Archivo Blomberg manages a private family fond that holds the documentary and artistic legacy of Swedish explorer Rolf Blomberg, Guayaquilean artist Araceli Gilbert, and the Anglo-Ecuadorian Robinson Perez family. The Blomberg Fond includes photographs, short documentary films, books, magazines, newspaper articles, diaries, letters, travel chronicles, audio recordings, drawings, works of art and personal objects that reflect their life and work. The fond also includes documentary units produced by the Archivo Blomberg Cultural Foundation during its years of management, from 2000 to the present, such as books and exhibition catalogs. This collection has become a reference for the cultural and natural heritage of Ecuador and the region (with emphasis on Colombia, Peru and Brazil), as well as other regions, such as Africa, Oceania, Asia and Europe.
